The Village
Proença-a-Nova is a Portuguese village located in the District of Castelo Branco, in the Central region of Portugal. It is part of the sub-region of Pinhal Interior Sul and the Diocese of Portalegre and Castelo Branco. The town has a rich history, with remains dating back to Roman times, when it was known as Cortiçada.
